Wer sich für IT-Themen rund um den digitalen Wandel in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft interessiert, der ist in einem Dualen Bachelor-Studium mit Panasonic genau richtig. Es wartet ein spannender Alltag in einem hochagilen Unternehmen mit Englisch als Firmensprache. Deshalb haben wir mit accadis-Alumnus Philipp Stephan (PS), Senior Manager Supply Chain bei der Panasonic Business Support Europe GmbH, das Interview über den Unternehmensalltag auf Englisch geführt.

PS: Panasonic strives to deliver lifestyle updates for consumers and professional business solutions for companies to make the world a better place.

How many employees does your company have worldwide?

PS: 250.000.

Everyday working life – what does it look like at Panasonic?

PS: The key to our success is to empirically analyze, understand and forecast market trends. Based on the insights gained, Panasonic develops agile concepts that serve the sales and logistics operations in the European sales companies, collaborates with colleagues, suppliers and customers to identify European best practice in Supply Chain Management and implements tailored Supply Chain solutions.

There are stressful times in every corporation – how do you cope with them?

PS: The key is to prioritize tasks and evaluate stakeholder power. We collaborate within the team and balance the workload effectively among our team members during peak times. We play football every Tuesday and we can take home office days to concentrate on specific tasks. We enjoy the challenges we encounter, are always polite and keep a good sense of humor during stressful times.

Which departments does a working student get to know during his studies?

PS: 1) Country Organisation DACH (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) 2) European Supply Chain Execution (European Headquarter).

What does an applicant have to bring with him to convince you of his abilities?

PS: A candidate needs to have intrinsic motivation and dedication to drive growth in a team. A strong interest in digitization and computer science and the willingness to continually learn is key. We are looking for open-minded and communicative employees who are eager to “go the extra mile”.

What should a student prepare himself for when he completes his studies with Panasonic?

PS: A student needs patience to understand the complexity of a 60 billion EUR company. At the same time, Panasonic is a highly agile organization, so adaptability and ability to embrace change are key. English is the working language at Panasonic.

In one sentence – what do you hope to get out of working with the student?

PS: We are looking for „fresh“ thinkers who are willing to question existing processes and to think “out-of-the-box.”
